DESCRIPTION
This course is an introduction to the computer as an illustration medium.
Assignments are designed to explore “surface” qualities, texture,
image layering, distortions, additive and subtractive color theory, color
mixing, digitizing, and resolution systems. The students will learn how to
address output limitations. PREREQUISITE: IC1031
COURSE
OBJECTIVES
The objective of this
course is to gain a good solid understanding of the intricacies of image
painting and texture creation and be able to exhibit those attributes
by creating quality paintings that utilize a variety of advanced techniques
including blending modes, layers and channels. The student will also investigate
advanced texture creation techniques while experimenting with the understanding
of materials and shaders inside of a 3D software such as 3DsMax.
